OUR BIO’S:

SCOTT LIBERTO – PRESIDENT: Scott was born in Maryland, and his family moved to South Florida when he was 7 years old. His love for computers started soon after moving to Florida, when he went to work with his father who was the manager of a big electronics and “hi-fi” retailer in the 1970s. When he was 9 he received an Atari 2600 video game system which further sparked his curiosity about technology, and at age 11 he got his first computer–an Atari 800 XL. For the next 8 years or so most of his spare time was spent writing his own software programs and sharing them with other BBS users. (”BBS” stands for “Bulletin Board System” and was the early precursor to what we all call the “Internet” today.) Because of his extreme devotion to his computer hobby, building, maintaining and fixing computers became second nature to him. As an adult he went to school for restaurant and hotel management, and even managed several restaurant chains in Palm Beach and Broward counties, but eventually realized that all he wanted to do was pursue his dream of working with computers. So in 1997 he left the restaurant business altogether, landed a job at the corporate headquarters of Office Depot running their print room and archival system, and started working as a freelance computer technician on the side. Then in 2000 he took a job with Alternative Technology selling Citrix thin client technology in New York City by cold-calling businesses and inviting them to attend technology seminars put on by Scott himself. All the while he continued to work on the weekends fixing computers and setting up networks for a handful of clients. By 2002, his “side” computer business had grown to a point where it was ready to fly, and so he left his job and set up shop full time. The next milestone occurred in 2004 when the business had reached a point where help was needed on the administrative side and so his wife, Jill, left her job and started working with him full time, and Compute-Ability was born! Since then, the business has continued to grow, and Compute-Ability now offers more services to their customers than ever before.

JILL LIBERTO – VICE PRESIDENT: Jill was born in Ohio, and her family moved to the Florida panhandle when she was 13 years old. There she attended school and eventually worked as a legal assistant for several local firms, before moving to South Florida when she was 20. Over the next 10 years she continued working as a legal assistant, honing her specialty down to commercial real estate, and advancing in her field. During most of the 1990s she worked in the corporate legal departments of Blockbuster Video, Office Depot and Extended Stay America, handling commercial real estate matters, and then in 2001 when Extended Stay America relocated to South Carolina, Jill chose to stay in Florida and started working with a local commercial real estate law firm. In 2004, she left that job to work full time at Compute-Ability with her husband, Scott. She now handles all administrative and scheduling aspects of the company, and also serves customers by tutoring them on the basics of how to use a computer, Microsoft Office suite programs, and the internet.
